Moonlight Venice is a collection of private apartments in central Venice, hosted directly since 2014. Book direct and you get the same apartments from the people who host them: one price, no platform fee, an answer within a few hours.
Every apartment in our collection is also listed on Airbnb. Guests who book there pay a service fee to the platform, wait for the platform’s messaging to relay our answers, and arrive with a set of house rules written for the platform’s audience.
Guests who book here talk to us from the first message, pay the price we set and nothing on top, and arrive with the same codes, the same welcome book and the same hosts on the other end of the line.
Direct booking is preferred, never forced. The Airbnb listing stays where it is, for guests who would rather use the platform’s guarantees. The apartment and the hosts are the same either way.
A direct request is answered with the total for your dates: the nightly price for the nights you asked for, the Venice city tax per person per night, and the cancellation terms. Nothing is added at check-in. No cleaning surcharge appears at the end, no resort fee, no upsell once you are inside. The number on the confirmation is the number you pay.
The city tax is the one line that is not ours: the Comune collects it from every overnight guest, and our guide to the Venice city tax explains the amounts and the exemptions. The day-tripper access fee does not apply to anyone sleeping in the city.
Third-floor flat with a wide view over the Venetian lagoon.
We have hosted apartments in Venice since 2014. More than 30,000 guests have stayed with us, and the Airbnb average across over 1,000 reviews is 4.76 stars. That record is public and it belongs to the same apartments and the same hosts you deal with here. We are not a property manager with a call centre. We are the hosts.
Every apartment page shows the national registration code (CIN) that Italian law has required on short-term rentals since 2024. Every confirmation puts the total, the tax and the terms in writing before you pay.
There is no reception and no check-in window. Each apartment has a smart lock or a key safe, and the codes arrive the day before you travel, with directions from the nearest vaporetto stop to the door. Land at midnight, let yourself in at half past twelve.
Inside, a digital welcome book covers the house and the neighbourhood: the water and the heating, the rubbish collection days, the bakery that opens at seven, the bacaro two bridges away, what the high-water siren means and where the raised walkways go. During hosting hours we are on WhatsApp for anything the book does not cover.
Three rooms in the heart of Venice, eight minutes from San Marco.
No concierge desk.
The days are yours.
Ask, and we arrange what your stay needs.
There is no concierge desk. We chose the apartment and wrote the welcome book; the days are yours. If you want something put together for your stay, a water taxi at the dock, a table, a boat in the lagoon, a walk with someone who knows the city, tell us when you write and we tailor it to you through the Venetians we work with. Nothing is added unless you ask, which keeps the price honest and the relationship simple: you rent a private home in Venice from the people who look after it.
If you have not chosen a neighbourhood yet, our San Marco apartments are two to four minutes from the Piazza and our Castello apartments are eight to twelve minutes east, in the sestiere where the city goes quiet after dark. Our guide to where to stay in Venice covers the rest.
The platform service fee. On a direct request you pay the nightly price and the city tax, both stated on your confirmation, and nothing on top.
You are dealing with the hosts who have run these apartments since 2014, with more than 30,000 guests and 4.76 stars on over 1,000 Airbnb reviews. Every apartment carries its national registration code (CIN), and your confirmation states the total, the tax and the cancellation terms in writing.
Within a few hours during hosting hours, and never later than the next morning. The confirmation includes the total for your dates.
The cancellation terms are written on your confirmation before you pay, so you know them before you commit. Write to us if your dates move; we do what we can.
Yes, on request. Nothing is added to your price unless you ask, but if you want a water taxi waiting, a table booked, a boat in the lagoon or a walk with someone who knows the city, write to us with your dates and we put it together for you.
